Hey- if anyone wants to write on this, then do so in a respectful manner. All the hate is self ridicule.
Hey, who knew Dr. Phil was a Pantera fan?

Yeah I felt I went a bit overboard, but at the time I really just couldn't be assed writing The Great Southern Trend Kill.

Dime's tone takes a lot of crap now for being OTT, but that's what he was, that's WHO he was. That tone was an extension of himself. There was a lot more mid on VDOP and TGSTK because he wanted a thicker, more brutal sound. If you scoop your mids, you need to push the volume higher to ensure you don...

Put yourself in that position, just imagine you're Dime, Vinnie or Rex. Phil gets smacked up to the eyeballs before every show, falls over and screams what sounds like his dying breath into the mic (and not in the good way he used to). No amount of energy from the rest of the band can hide the shame...

I don't want another Pantera. Pantera was and still is a unique band with music like no other. The idea that someone else could form a band with the idea of sounding like Pantera. Avenged Sevenfold are more melodic than Pantera, but seem to be making an effort to sound like them. Unfortunately for t...
