emg 81/85 are the way to go. I haved used just about every seymore made and the distortions are good and but hum alittle. You can get them in their mayhem set for the right price. the emg's are just awsome pickups. they are quiet,very clear,great harmonics. all 4 of my guitars have emg's in them now...

You might look into Marshalls avt line.
I got a avt275 and it's pretty damn awesome.
My anceint ass rg100 half stack kicks ass too.
The marshall has 4 channels and i just plug strait in and tweak with it a little and pretty much got a good "slayer" tone
