I wonder if there were any studio tracks recorded that didn't make it on to the first 4 records?
I've also read about a 1982 demo tape, (citation needed) but I think it was just a few Kiss covers with Terry on vocals.

Technically I started when a bought a copy of FBD around 2003, but I couldn't really get into it, so after a few spins it started to gather dust. It wasn't until early 2006 when I read a review of their Power Metal album. Being much more of a NWOBHM/Traditional metal enthusiast, I thought I'd check ...

2 words... Manowar, Anthology :aargh: A worthy collection of battle metal hymns, unfairly slated for its questionable cover art. :aargh: But if we're comparing Power Metal to ManOwar, I think the best comparison would be their 1988 studio effort Kings of Metal. And you know what, I honestly think P...

you can really tell how much pantera progressed when you listen to power metal and then listen to far beyond driven vinnies drum sound like edrums in power metal That's probably mostly down to the 80's production and a lower recording budget. It can sound a bit dated and thin today, but it was just...

I think the similarities between We'll Meet Again and Cemetary Gates are more apparent. There is a few similar riffs, We'll Meet Again is shorter, and has no acoustic parts, but you could definately view it as a blueprint for CG. Both are quite meloncholic songs too. Both deal with similar lyrical t...

But, if the lyrics offended his beliefs and sensibilities towards the subject, then he would probably have refused to sing them for the album and on stage.dead forever wrote:The lyrics on the Power Metal album were not penned by Anselmo.
Also, take into account the three songs mentioned by HoustonKJ.

Re: Guitar Hero
I don't actually play guitar for real, but this is more musically related than anything else. I'm talking about Guitar Hero for PS2. Anyone else have this game. It's easy to pick up (even if like me you have no idea how to play a real guitar) but nearly impossible to master (although those that hav...

it's a pretty fun game, it shows you how hard a lot of those songs can be. Someone who plays guitar should have little to no problem with it but I don't know one thing about guitar playing so it's a pretty good challenge to me. Valhalla- I never really paid attention to this song, until recently. An old tune from I am the Night, but not glam/hair metal at all. The lyrics are well written and thought out. This is a high-quality, (but often overlooked) battle-metal tune of the highest calibre that (in my opinion, of course- ...
