Candlemass
I have been jamming/writing some doom metal lately and can't get enough of candlemass. Their fucking lead guitarist has some of the sickest solos and I believe he is very underrated as a writer. Discuss

I can play half way decent I guess, I'm a bass player so I'm not used to holding picks. i can hit mean pinch harmonics and can play a good portion of Schematic...

Re: Ever decide to rededicate yourself to your instrument?
I've had the guitar grimoire forever now, barely ever looked at it. Now however, I have decided that I shall indulge myself by learning all the positions of the pentatonic scale, and possibly learning the notes therein. I know shit of guitar theory, but I realize I am terrible at guitar, and no lon...

bodom j funfact: 76% of all pantera solos were written and recorded by kerry king. The rest were done by zakk wylde. In fact, The only songs that dimebag even had any writing credits on was good friends and a bottle of bills and walk. He also created the idea for the RTS cover art. You fucking idio...

I never used my pinky much for the first couple of years that i played guitar. I started using it when i was watching videos of pantera and dime was doing those wide pinky streatches. I started trying to do them and practiced them over and over and after a few weeks i was able to integrate my pinky ...

the thing is not a lot of people can play guitar good but any dead motherfucker can play a electronic instrument. :negro: Which shows you are just as ignorant as your inability to spell your favorite band's name implies. or he could just be a huge fan of bread. Hes prolly a huge fan of giving head

Pressing a fucking key or button requires no skill. Playing guitar you actually have to fret a live note that you can bend and manipulate with tones and octives with. Most of the so called great keyboard players play the keyboard so fast that it sounds like a guitar anyway. By the way, you don't per...

Unless you're in a band playing massive venues, there's really no need for a 100 watt head. Even if you're playing stadiums you don't need something that big because everyone gets miced into the PA anyway. Why not get something smaller that you can actually drive without generating so much volume t...

I checked out your recordings on myspace and was wondering how you record your guitar parts using the XXX head in the studio. Do you mic the cabs, run direct or go thru some sort of preamp? I tried to go thru my head direct before and it sounded too thin and digital. I then tried to just mic the cab...
