every Dime ive played always played muddy. even on clean it was distorted. i like the distortion to be thick but you can tell what the guitarist is hitting, it doesnt just melt into fuzz.

Its a BC Rich NT Jr. V with a Screamin' Demon in the bridge. Quilted maple top, transparent red. neck pick up is standard bc rich pick up and its not too too bad, but the Demon def. makes up for it.

hmm to each his own i suppose. Ive got a V with the floyd on it and i dont like it at all. sadly its one of my most beautiful guitars but never gets played because the trem sucks. ah well. not like im gonna sell it anytime soon.

Its the active pick ups. ive also got a Viper with the passive EMGs and it still rips. Ive had the Viper for 5 years now and it still shreds. i learn new songs on the viper since im so used to it, and it transfers over great to the EX

Ive got the ESP Explorer and i would recommend it but you said you hate EMGs which this has. Other than that its a solid guitar, not heavy, and plays fantastic.
