Re: Guitar amps

I just picked up one of these used yesterday for $200. It's pretty badass for the price and sounds just like a tube amp. The gain is a little weak, but I haven't cranked the volume up either. I threw in some added overdrive and now it sounds great. http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/fit,400by400/quali...

I think they've been out for a few years but I've only had mine a couple months after I found it used at Guitar Center.

http://multieffectspedals.guitarsphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/bossme-20big.jpg I actually really like my Boss ME-20. It's pretty versatile and I've gotten some good metal and clean tones out of it. The upgraded ME-50 sucks. It has more toys but no designated EQ, so it really limits what you...

The hellraisers are nice. I just bought an Omen last week (couldn't afford the hellraiser) and I'm loving it. The stock pickups are shit, but I swapped out the bridge pickup for an EMG-hz.

Although Nick Barker's kit sounds badass, it's all triggers. Look how he barely hits the bass drum.

One time I was changing strings and one of them fill inside an electrical outlet on a surge protector. It turned bright orange and burned a line on the carpet.

It's just the way the song was mixed. Maybe the vocal track had a compressor so when the instruments got louder, the vocals stayed the same.

I have Guitar Rig 3 and I've had some trouble with it. I do like how it has a Dimebag setting. However, when I play my guitar, no sounds comes out until almost a second later, making it near impossible to play since I don't hear it long after its been played. Maybe it's my interface. I have it with the Drumkit From Hell and I don't particularly like it. It takes forever to start up and then it'll start cutting out. There's not much variation in the drum sounds either. I was hoping for more variety in my kick drums.

That song is awesome. Only problem is that way too many bands have covered it. It gets covered as much as Rebel Yell.

I've noticed thrift stores have gotten ridiculous with their prices too. You can't get much of a deal there anymore either. If something is $100 new, they'll sell it used for $99. What happened to all the good thrift store/pawn shops deals?

The main thing holding me back is that I'm primarily a guitar player, but I was playing fill-in bass for a band that's no longer together. So now I don't have much use for the 2 basses I already own, so I really don't need another.

Good pawn shop purchase?

Occasionally I check out pawn shops for guitar equipment, but almost always find nothing but junk. However recently I found a hot pink BC Rich Warlock bass. Haha the old guy who works there was making fun of me for looking at it. He said "It even comes with a free can of paint to get rid of tha...
