Re: Guitar amps
Jeb, if you are going Vox, get an AC15. My friend has an AC30 and it's almost too much power. They both sound gorgeous, though.

Re: Soundgarden
Just got back. They sounded heavy as fuck, especially for an outdoor venue. Chris sounded amazing, like you said.. I can't imagine them sounding better even in the 90s. Got some songs I haven't seen much of so far on this tour.. Mailman, Pretty Noose, Let Me Drown, Burden in My Hand, Superunkown :aa...

With the way that guy has his Tele setup, it might as well be any other guitar.

Re: Line 6 or Marshall amps?
Also, any musician who considers himself better than another is missing the point. Even if there was an objective way to make that assertion, it's nothing more than masturbation.

Re: Line 6 or Marshall amps?
I don't think any skill level should be necessary to go out and buy higher end gear, if it happens to be a piece of equipment that sounds good to your ears. I do think a lot of musicians fall into the bigger-is-better mentality when it comes to these $1000+ dollar heads or ridiculously expensive gui...

Re: Line 6 or Marshall amps?
You could say that about anyone that buys high-end gear. Everyone might as well buy budget gear because most will not be coming out with a groundbreaking album. It's smart to look ahead and buy something that you will still enjoy 5 years from now when you progress as a musician, rather that buy some...

Yeah, after going tube, there's no looking back.
For metal though, I guess some solid state stacks are passable.

Last thing I bought was a Hartman BC108 fuzz last year. Next pedal I'm looking at is a Danelectro Reel Echo.

Re: Interested in buying a Fender Strat.
Yeah, every Squier I've picked up has played/sounded great. The Classic Vibe series especially. I'd have no problem using one of those as a main guitar. Don't be scared off by the brand name or even by regular Fenders that are made in Mexico. Just find one that's comfortable. Pretty much any Fender ...

Hell, I've tried a few Squier classic vibe strats and teles and love them. I've thought about getting one to just mod for fun. It all comes down to just what you like and how you think your rig should sound. I'm glad I don't look at instruments in dollar signs and used market value, etc. I'm in it t...

I think either way, most musicians who are even somewhat serious value ability over how much their equipment cost. In another thread people were talking about how Eddie Van Halen would sound like himself through any setup and I think it's true. Who gives a shit what something costs, if it inspires y...

Because you can relate to something like that, but when someone buy something awesome and high dollar, you get mad and jealous because you can't have the same thing(s). I was reading up on their P90 equivalent a little while ago when I was thinking about buying a cheap guitar to mod. I've heard good things about them too.

I've been looking at fuzzes for a while... the new Big Muff Tone Wicker sounds pretty good, and for $89 I figure I can't do much wrong. Sounds pretty good. I'm sure it will be a big upgrade from the B52 (you're the one that had the LG too right?). Once I decided to go tube I haven't looked back. The B52 always got me a good tone as fair as gain, but these days I really like to build outward from a good clean tone with pedals and suc...
