You can YouTube mostly all of these amps and get an idea of what you're dealing with. Im falling in love with the sound of the EVH III and the Peavey 6505+, both tube, both affordable. If you wan't Dimes FBD sound why not just do some research to see what he played in that era? With a $2500 budget y...

Im guessing that's either a SD Invader or Detonator - Highest output passive pickup they make SUPER sweet crunch...comparable to EMG 81 by far...not quite sure its in the neck position though... :? Dimarzio bridge?

edit: uhhh the guitar is pretty much crap.

I bought it, used it for about a month and switched to a Duncan Invader...the XL500 has no balls at all...I dont know how Dime used it for as long as he did, there again most of his shit was probably modded in some fashion or another.
